Hello everyone.. We've been incredibly
busy lately, and the schedule has been delayed because of all the things we had
to do last during the past month.
One thing that
kept us incredibly busy was an auction of comic books, which we also deal in. A
major retailer with a warehouse in Las Vegas went bankrupt, so the bank held an
auction to sell as many as 15 million comics and related items. So for 10 days
prior to the auction, I was busy clearing out space in my gigantic warehouse
that was already full of movie posters and other
collectibles.
Normally, this would not be much of
a job, but when I say the warehouse was already packed, I mean I was packed and
the temperature was the hottest of the year here in Vegas!! So when we bought
more than 1000 boxes of comic books, magazines, hardcover books, collectibles
and even a Blackjack table, well I think you can imagine what we were in for
here. Over the past 30 days, there has been a whirlwind of activity as we made
space and then moved several truckloads of comics back to the warehouse in 110
degree heat!!

So this stuff is packed from
front to back, piled up on shelves, piled up on warehouse racking, piled up in
every nook and cranny!!
Unfortunately, while we
were doing all that work, we were getting seriously behind on auction work. The
Window Card auction which should have run at the beginning of the month was
repeatedly re-scheduled because I haven't had time to prepare it. This is going
to be a dynamite auction folks! There are close to 500 Window Cards from as
early as 1923 and they include many fabulous titles.. Look at the pictures at
the end of this page.
But it wasn't just the
Window Cards that are delayed. We have an auction of Horror-SF-Fantasy Lobby
Cards coming up that needs to be prepared as well as an auction of French movie
posters. We have piles of half sheets and inserts to work on. We have a Special
Auction coming up soon of Serial Posters from the Silents to the 1950s.
Portrait & Best-of-Set lobby cards and many others, but due to the work
load during the past month, none of these auctions has been properly
prepared.
However, while our long-awaited Window
Card is being delayed, our Serials auction will go as planned the week of
August 18th-25th.
Meanwhile, our current auction is ending today and our next auction
will be Horror-SF-Fantasy-Kung Fu half sheets and inserts, starting today at
5:10 PM.
